Baylor closes ranks, defends Darwin against all lines of evidence
O'Leary
Baylor’s move to shut down Prof. Robert Marks’s exposure of Darwinism as the Enron of biology is a harder line than the institution took seven years ago.
Curiously, the 2000 report on the Polanyi Center (long closed) had actually proclaimed,
” … the committee wishes to make it clear that it considers research on the logical structure of mathematical arguments for intelligent design to have a legitimate claim to a place in current discussions of the relations of religion and the sciences.”
Presumably, Baylor honchos don’t think that any more.
Is that because Bob Marks can actually do it now?
Bill Dembski tells me that the shutdown committee had never suggested that he couldn’t put such papers on his own site.
Go to Bill’s site right now to see the kind of papers questioning St. Darwin’s teachings that Baylor welcomes.

eVery Funny,
I guess this is what Baylor (The Baptists Notre Dame) welcomes as far as ID research is concerned?

eThe amazing thing is, figuring out that Darwinian mechanisms are bankrupt as an explanation for what they attempt to explain is a trivial mathematical, evidential, and intellectual exercise.
How does one become the president of a university with such a superficial understanding of basic science?

eGil,
Apparently that old adage “Its not what you know but WHO you know” is what is in play here for Pres. Lilley liver….
But this time it seems he may just have to face the music for what he doesn’t know about science!
Shoot, He might even get “EXPELLED” from his job.. LOL

eI LOVE the “Enron of biology” line, Denyse! I wonder who plays the part of Ken Lay?

eGil says:
“….figuring out that Darwinian mechanisms are bankrupt as an explanation for what they attempt to explain is a trivial mathematical, evidential, and intellectual exercise.”
That, in a nutshell, is what really gets to me about this whole debate. There is no reason whatsoever to believe in any type of unguided process at work. It seems a complete disconnect from reality is required to adhere to Darwinism, yet here we have in Baylor *another* case where belief/dogma trumps reason/logic. It’s just so frustrating to watch, especially when you understand what the typical darwinist actually believes! Like yeah, proton-driven rotors just “happen” if you give chance and necessity enough time…pleezzzz.

eThe Forbidden Equation*
[endogenous information] = [active information] + [exogenous information]
or:
[the information content of the entire search space] equals [the specific information about target location and search-space structure incorporated into a search algorithm that guides a search to a solution] plus [the information content of the remaining space that must be searched]

eThe title should read:
Baylor closes minds, defends Darwin against all options by denying any opposing viewpoints.
